It was reported today that Marc Jacobs’ entire Spring 2012 collection was stolen while en route to London from Paris, however conflicting reports have emerged just this evening.
After a press release was issued by Marc’s PR team declaring that their Press Day, originally scheduled for tomorrow, had been cancelled, social networking site Twitter received record hits as people clamoured for information.
It is unclear as to how or where exactly the collection was stolen, but it is assumed by those in the industry that it is the work of people seeking to reproduce the Spring 2012 collection.
This evening even more reports surfaced claiming that not all of the collection had been stolen, merely samples and that the Runway looks are still in New York.
It’s a blow for the brand however, as now that their samples intended for distribution amongst stylists and editors have gone missing, Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 will be decidedly absent from various publications and advertisements in the coming months.
