Let’s face it, everyone loves a good pair of jeans. They’re a staple item in any wardrobe, no matter what day it is.  Personally, I have a super soft spot for the Topshop Joni jeans because their high-waistedness is just *heart eye emoji*! The process of finding the right pair of jeans for you can take a while but once you discover the style, cut and fit you like, you’re pretty much set for life!

You’ve probably noticed how celebrities and style icons such as Kim Kardashian have been venturing away from the skinny jean as of lately and at first I was not a fan, but I have to admit, I kind of like the comfort of Mom and Boyfriend style jeans! (As long as they’re still high-waisted). I bought my first pair of Mom jeans on a whim in Topshop because they were on sale and I said I’d give them a go and I’m so glad that I did. Admittedly, I’ve only worn them a handful of times, but I do enjoy styling them.

Here are another pair of ‘Mom’ jeans which I got online from Missguided. I love them because they incorporate another trend that I’m obsessed with which is the overly-distressed denim. I wore these with a plain tight white cropped top and some chunky boots so the jeans were the main focus of the outfit. I think another way these could be styled is with a flannel shirt around your waist and some heels

If you’re not sure what style you want to go for, think about the kind of tops you wear. If you’re into cropped tops, then go for a high waist. If you like wearing baggy shirts, try a skinny jean, and if you like tank tops and the like, then maybe a low rise might be more your thing. Try as many as you can because, well its fun!

Personally, I’m not into the whole coloured denim thing but there are plenty of colours to choose from if you want to try something other than black and blue. If I was to wear a coloured jean, I’d definitely go for a plain top so you don’t over-do it. As for the cut of jean, if it’s wide leg, go for a tighter top half, and vice versa. If you want to try a ripped jean, start small to see if you like the way it looks on you!

As I mentioned at the start, Topshop’s Joni jeans are my ultimate favourites. In my opinion, they’re perfect for any occasion because you can wear heels and a crop top to dress them up, or a pair of converse and a loose tee for a more every day, casual outfit. I chose a shorter length with my pair because I like a bit of ankle cleavage but you can pick from a ton of lengths and sizes to fit you perfectly! The Jamie jeans aren’t quite as high-waisted but they suit well for days when you might want to wear a mid length top. 🙂

I’m gonna leave you here, with a quote from Andy Warhol saying “I want to die in my blue jeans.” I can’t disagree with you pal.
