If you’ve been noticing a very subtle, retro vibe on the high street of late, you’re not alone.

Full of warm, earthy tones and cosy textures like corduroy and patchwork fur, it’s obvious – the 60s are back and in the most wonderful way.

It was an era of owning plush but durable staple pieces with slight hints of pattern (right before things went full on psychedelic in the 70s) so we’re glad to see some of the decade’s fundamentals creep back into our every day looks.

For girls, the must have item of late is a button down A-line skirt and there’s any number of versions out there. Striped turtleneck sweaters are a nice way to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe for both ladies and gentlemen.

And, of course, the high street giants are only following the lead of high fashion houses like Gucci, Chloé and Dior, all of whom showcased collections with a decidedly 60s flair to them this A/W15.

This trend is ideal in that it’s affordable, easy to achieve and offers some much needed warmth for the harsh winter months. If you’re stuck for inspiration then look no further as we’ve thrown together a helpful guide of how to incorporate this trend into your every day ensemble.
