Bronwyn O’Neill takes a look at some of outfits at the 2016 European Music Awards.
Last night, the stars of Europe were out in force to attend MTV’s annual European Music Awards (EMA).
With stars like Nina Dobrev, The Weeknd and our own Laura Whitmore gracing the red carpet, it was a colourful affair to say the least. The illusion nude dress is a trend that doesn’t seem to be dying anytime soon and of course graced the red carpet several times last night.
Bebe Rexha presented the show and in true presenter style she made seven outfit changes. From gorgeous red gowns to sequins body suits.
Model and former America’s Next Top Model contestant Winnie Harlow walked the red carpet in a Roberto Cavalli illusion dress. Whilst model Jourdan Dunn made her mark on the now infamous dress. The English beauty wore a daring mesh dress on the carpet.
DCU Alum, Laura Whitmore, wore a bold dress for the event. The edgy look was a far cry from the outfits she wore on Strictly Come Dancing which she was voted off the same day.
Former Vampire Diaries actress, Nina Dobrev turned heads in a gorgeous lilac gown with metallic accessories.
The Geordie Shore gang rocked up to the carpet wearing daring silver looks. With Nathan and Gary wearing tuxedos as Chloe Ferry wowed her fans in a metallic dress and matching silver hair.
American singer Shawn Mendes stole the spotlight as one of the best dressed men of the evening. The singer opted for a leather jacket instead of a blazer and stole every teen girl’s heart with his bad boy chic.
An MTV awards show is no stranger to the wild and wonderful world of fashion, and last night was no different. Since Beyoncé popularised the illusion gown there hasn’t been a red carpet without one. However, the illusion gown is a difficult look to master. Especially when made into a jump suit, which reality star Elettra Lamborghini, a castmember of the Latino version of Jersey Shore, highlighted last night.
The look made her US and UK counterparts look tame in comparison.
