Every college girl has about three outfits that are alternate throughout the week because while we all have good intentions to dress up for college, the majority of the days the snooze button is too tempting to resist. However that doesn’t mean you can’t dress nicely going to college. That’s why college essentials are in fact essential. Having about five staple pieces in your wardrobe that you can throw on and guarantee to look half put together will make getting ready for college on cold, dark and wet mornings much easier. Let’s dive into the college staples that should be in your wardrobe.
Many of us have a black coat that we don’t even really like we just wear it because it’s convenient, warm and waterproof. However a nice black coat will make you feel so much better about your outfit if you at least half like it. Whether you are into long and puffy, teddy coats, leather jackets or something simple there is definitely something out there for you. A black coat is something you are going to wear possibly every other day so it can be somewhat of an investment piece even on a college student budget. Spending that little bit extra on it will mean that you will get better quality
and warmth out of it.
Another staple in every college girl’s winter wardrobe should be a good pair of boots. Considering we live in Ireland it’s also very important that these boots are waterproof. Pick your favourite colour from black, to brown or burgundy and invest in a pair that will get you through till next April.
For any wardrobe black jeans are essential. They go with everything and are easily styled with boots, heels and runners. Find what you prefer in a jean before buying. You can find good jeans at a reasonable price in the likes of Topshop and River island. Make sure you try on before you buy though because there are different lengths and different waist options in most shops. There are other options for cheaper jeans which can be found in the likes of Penny’s, Stradivarius and Pull and Bear but the lasting power of the Topshop and River island jeans makes the price worthwhile.
You may think this is a bit vague but when it comes to jumpers everyone’s style is very different some people love a polo neck some people hate them. Some people love chunky jumpers, some prefer thin. Sometimes you might want a good mixture of both. Find what you love and you’ll be cosy the whole winter long.
