When did you first discover your love for fashion?

Always loved fashion as a kid – I used to always draw new designs when I was really young, but I never thought it would be something I’d get into. I always thought it seemed impossible to become a designer, I thought it was something that just happened in movies! So through my teenage years I always admired it from afar but never actually did anything. And then when I got into NCAD I started to see it was more possible to be a designer, no matter who you are or where you’re from.

What was the first piece you made?

I make printed scarves, and the first one I made was from a college project in April of 2020! I finalised the print design at the start of May and got it printed onto fabric at the end of May 🙂

Who would you say are your biggest inspirations?

My inspirations come from many sources. In terms of other designers – I’d say Stine Goya, Elizabeth Whibley, Leonard Paris, Roberta Einer, Manish Aurora, Peter Pilotto, and 70s and vintage fashion 🙂

Has there been any challenges or problems you have faced?

No major problems yet – I’m back to college now so maybe it will be harder to manage!

What are your hopes and dreams for the future?

I hope to become a successful textile designer, and maybe even show my designs at London Fashion week… I also have a passion for psychology and I would hope to incorporate that into my work and maybe somehow make a difference to the mental health services through fashion.
