With a new year beginning, one thing we can start to look forward to are the new fashion trends emerging for 2021. After everything that has happened over the past year, it’s fair to say that the coronavirus pandemic has most definitely changed the fashion world and some of these trends are here to stay again this year.
First up, we have loungewear. Thrown into a world of working from home this time last year, loungewear quickly became a staple in everybodys’ wardrobes. Since then, tracksuits and co-ords have had a huge glow-up and it has become more acceptable to strut them in public. Matching co-ords and wide leg pants have resurfaced and are going nowhere this year. Colour is a huge trend, particularly for Spring/Summer and what better way to express true style than in the comfort of a tracksuit?
- Sweater Vests
Sweater Vests came onto the scene last Summer and have never truly left. They are such a versatile and valuable piece of clothing to have in your wardrobe. They’re so easy to throw on over a plain white tee or to wear on their own and they make you look so much more put together, even if you are just on a Zoom meeting. Sweater Vests have taken a step up and pastel colours are looking extremely popular for the upcoming season. Sweater Vests in cute colours and prints are so widely available and you can find some really affordable options to spice up your everyday outfits.
- Low Rise Pants
Low rise pants have officially made their comeback. As a 2000s favourite, low rise clothing disappeared for a while, but are recently back on the scene. So many influencers have decided to hop on this trend and it just makes them more and more popular. Celebrities like Bella Hadid have been seen sporting low rise pants, and she has even been spotted rolling her waistband down to achieve the low rise look. They’re everywhere at the moment, but will they ever really take over from a good high waisted pair of trousers? It’s hard to think that they will.
In bringing ourselves back to reality, one trend for 2021 we can’t forget is masks. During this pandemic we need masks and we have to wear them, but who’s to say you can’t use them to your benefit to spice up your outfit? Since we’ve adjusted our lives to this global pandemic, masks have gone from being available in blue surgical style to any colour or pattern you can think of. One emerging trend for 2021 is a simple black mask. You can’t go wrong with a plain black mask to add to any of your outfits and keep yourself and others safe while doing so.
