With the age of lockdown hair cuts upon us the reopening of hair salons cannot come soon enough for some.

Here are the hottest new hair trends you could try this summer.

  • Wavy Shag

Say goodbye to perfect looking hair with this effortless look. This year we have seen natural makeup making a come back and so has natural hair. This cut gives a natural look that is easily maintained perfect for those long summer nights.

  • Fantasy Colours

We have all fallen victim to the urge to do something unexpected with our hair and this year is the year to do it. Darker hair may need quite a bit of bleaching to achieve this, however pastel tones can be easily applied to blonde hair making this a go-to summer look. If you aren’t quite ready to commit wash in wash out dyes are available and last approximately 2 weeks.

  • Square bob cut

Again, another nod to the shaggy look this hair cut will ensure all eyes are on you this summer. Many celebs have taken the plunge and made the chop. This overall chic and stylish cut will have you looking red carpet ready with little effort.

  • Curtain bangs

The curtains have been pulled for a while now and it doesn’t look like they are going anywhere anytime soon. Curtain bangs beautifully frame any face and can have you feeling like a brand new you while still keeping the length to your hair. Bangs work perfectly with a tied back hairstyle while still giving the face some shape.

  • Soft waves

As always summer means back to wavy hairstyles. This year the hottest hair trends show a hybrid between the beach wave and a fabulous bouncy curl. Adding slightly more bounce to those beach waves gives a healthier and more voluminous look. Soft waves can be easily achieved for all hair lengths and so are a go-to this summer.

Hair colourist and stylist Jenny Byrne, who has been in the business for 30 years said, “This year has been tough on everyone so now is the time to get out there and just go for it with your hair. Try something new and you might surprise yourself.”
